MARCH weekly session of group Tango CLASSES @ DWS on 4 Thursdays, MAR 4th - 25th

All welcome 1st week of ea monthly BEG series - 3 month rotation of Beg Tango material - recommend taking this level at least 6 months. Beginning Argentine Tango at 8:00pm* (MAR class BEG focus: Tango BASICA & it's many pieces - stretch it, squeeze it, play it, please it..!) This is a Beginner/Adv'd Beg series class - no partner required - great foundation practice for all dancers - all levels. *Please arrive early for the Beg Tango Class - the floor is open to warm up 7:45-8pm before class starts. Intermediate Arg Tango at 8:45pm (MAR class INT focus: Barridas, Empujadas, Arrastres - Sweeps, Pushes, Drags - in open & close embrace... w/styling & L/F) free open Practica following. This is an Intermediate/Advanced Int+ level class - appropriate experience (6-9 month min) suggested - singles &/or couples welcome. Tango Practica - free open practice time following Thursday night classes until 10.

Purpose: To understand the connection to others through self-awareness - It is in relationship that we learn about ourselves. This series of workshops will address the factors that "hold us back" from being the dancer we want to be. Through a series of physical & technique oriented exercises, self-evaluation tools ... and of course by dancing, participants will gain a greater understanding of self, others and how they react to situations ... which in turn will improve your dance and your life!

Part one: Body Awareness - where do you hold your "stress" and how does it affects your dance?
Part two: Movement - how to get your body to move more freely and comfortably on the dance floor
Part three: Communication - whether lead or follow, what message are you giving to your partner?
Part four: Connection: - enhancing the dance experience by focusing on the comfort of your partner

It doesn't matter what dances you do or what level you are at ... this workshop will improve your dancing by building your core understanding ... both physical and emotional.
